Jamie Hirano
President
Jamie is a senior majoring in Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Management, with a minor in English. She joined BEST in Spring 2023 and previously served as Director of Marketing and Director of Career Development. Jamie also studied abroad in Korea, an experience that shaped her global perspective and leadership style.
With a clear vision for BEST’s direction, Jamie serves as the club’s official representative and leader. She sets the tone for the organization by guiding the Executive Board, overseeing key initiatives, and ensuring BEST continues to grow with purpose, professionalism, and strong community values.
Kristen Chun
Vice President
Kristen joined BEST in Fall 2022 and is a senior majoring in Accounting and Finance. Having previously served as Director of Career Development, she brings a strong understanding of member growth and alumni engagement. Her time studying abroad at the University of British Columbia reinforced her interest in building lasting professional connections.
As Vice President, Kristen oversees BEST’s alumni relations and recruitment efforts. She coordinates the Alumni Networking Event, manages alumni communications, and leads Recruitment Week initiatives, including tabling, classroom presentations, and retreat. In addition, she supports the President and assumes leadership responsibilities when needed.
Reece Ichinose
Secretary
Reece joined BEST in Spring 2025 and is currently a senior majoring in Accounting. He was previously part of the University of Hawaiʻi ROTC program, which helped shape his discipline and organizational skills.
As Secretary, Reece manages BEST’s official records and communications. He keeps meeting minutes, maintains the membership database and attendance logs, coordinates room reservations for events, and oversees chapter materials, calendars, applications, and inventory to ensure the organization runs smoothly.
Noah Sasaki
Treasurer
Noah joined BEST in Spring 2023 and is a senior double majoring in Finance and Human Resource Management. He studied abroad at the University of British Columbia in Spring 2024, an experience that strengthened his adaptability and approach to financial and organizational planning. Outside of BEST, he enjoys cooking, exploring the best black coffee spots, and traveling.
As Treasurer, Noah manages BEST’s finances and ensures responsible stewardship of the organization’s funds. He maintains accurate financial records, prepares the semester budget in collaboration with the Executive Board and committee chairs, oversees dues collection, and ensures all financial requirements, including minimum balances and tax filings, are met on time.
Tin Nguyen
Information Technology Officer
Tin joined BEST in Fall 2024 and is currently a junior majoring in Accounting. He previously served as Director of Career Development and, outside of BEST, is a member of the prestigious Hawaiʻi Royal Honor Guard, reflecting his commitment to discipline and service.
As Information Technology Officer, Tin oversees the systems that support BEST’s operations and communication. He manages the organization’s website and Weekly Update, coordinates with officers and directors to ensure accurate and timely information is shared, and collaborates with the Director of Marketing to support content capture at BEST events.
Alison Funai
Director of Corporate Relations
Alison joined BEST in Fall 2025 as a freshman in the Direct Admit Program. She is majoring in Accounting and Finance and is actively involved in lion dance and kung fu. In her free time, she enjoys embroidery and graphic design, which reflect her creativity and attention to detail.
As Director of Corporate Relations, Alison focuses on building and strengthening relationships with BEST’s professional members. She plans the semesterly Professional Interaction Night, collaborates with the Director of Career Development to maintain professional resources, and coordinates multiple company tours each semester to ensure members have meaningful exposure to industry and professional environments.
Jordan Tan
Director of Finance
Jordan joined BEST in Fall 2025 and is a sophomore majoring in Accounting. He also serves as a Resident Assistant in the UH dorms, where he has developed strong leadership and organizational skills. Outside of academics and BEST, Jordan enjoys traveling, working out, exploring new food spots, building Lego sets, and keeping up with Bay Area sports.
As Director of Finance, Jordan oversees BEST’s fundraising initiatives and leads efforts to generate sustainable financial support for the organization. He develops creative and innovative fundraising strategies, collaborates closely with the Executive Board and directors, and helps ensure events, programs, and member initiatives are properly funded to enhance the overall BEST experience and support the club’s long-term goals.
Alicia Tanoue
Director of Human Resources
Alicia joined BEST in Fall 2025 and is currently a junior majoring in Finance. She enjoys traveling, working out, and exploring new food spots, and values building strong connections within the BEST community.
As Director of Human Resources, Alicia focuses on fostering positive relationships among BEST members through thoughtfully planned social events. She also leads the coordination of community service initiatives, ensuring members and professionals have meaningful opportunities to give back to the local community. In addition, Alicia oversees the planning of multiple socials and service events each semester to support active member status and strengthen BEST’s sense of community and engagement.
Lhean Mae Espenilla
Director of Marketing
Lhean joined BEST in Fall 2025 and is a junior majoring in Marketing and International Business, with a minor in Studio Art. She has a strong passion for the arts, working across traditional mediums such as graphite, charcoal, and watercolor, and has recently been exploring mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, and photography.
As Director of Marketing, Lhean shapes and promotes BEST’s image across campus and within the broader Hawaiʻi business community. She manages all BEST social media platforms, captures and produces photo and video content at events, and leads the creation of major visual projects such as recruitment and promotional media that highlight BEST’s culture, professionalism, and impact.
Zion Ah You
Inter-Business Council Senator
Zion joined BEST in Fall 2025 and is majoring in Accounting and Finance. He is actively involved in the Financial Management Association and enjoys playing soccer and guitar, which reflect his team-oriented and well-rounded approach to leadership.
As Inter-Business Council Senator, Zion represents BEST within the IBC and focuses on strengthening relationships with other business organizations. He coordinates interclub relations events, facilitates BEST’s participation in Super Clubs’ Day and other IBC initiatives, and attends IBC Senator and Council meetings to ensure BEST remains engaged and connected within the Shidler College of Business community.
